Discussion on the Application for the Establishment and Operation of Aerodromes and Other Issues Related to the Implementation of the Proposed Airport

KUCHING (April 06): The Deputy Minister for Transport, Yang Berhormat Datuk Haji Hasbi Bin Haji Habibollah, is chairing a meeting to discuss on the application for the establishment and operation of aerodromes and other issues related to the implementation of the proposed Airport and STOLports in Sarawak at Level 5, Baitul Makmur 1, Petra Jaya Kuching.

This meeting aims to discuss the application for aerodromes' establishment and operation for Bebuling, Betong and Bukit Mabong, Kapit and the new Lawas Airport, Lawas. Aside from that, the Sarawak Government is also expressing their interest/request to the Ministry of Transport, such as the redevelopment of existing STOLports in Sarawak; increase direct international flight frequency from BIMP – EAGA country, Australia and China and use of aerobridges for AirAsia flights.

The meeting ended with a short gratitude speech from Yang Berbahagia Datu Safri bin Haji Zainudin and a souvenir presentation from the Ministry of Infrastructure and Port Development Sarawak (MIPD) to Yang Berhormat Datuk Haji Hasbi Bin Haji Habibollah, The Deputy Minister for Transport and his team.
