Uggah is talking to local media upon his arrival at WPC 11 site on Tuesday
MIRI: Construction of the Pan Borneo Highway up to the Sungai Tangap-Pujut Link Road, except for Lambir, is expected to be completed by December this year.
“The latest update on construction progress is that it is about 96.6 per cent complete,” said Deputy Premier Datuk Amar Douglas Uggah Embas here on Tuesday.
Uggah was speaking after the closing of the Pan Borneo Highway Exploration Tour which was launched on Monday from Kuching.
He said most of the Sarawak portion of the Pan Borneo Highway construction will be completed by December 2023.
“So by that time, with the Sarawak Pan Borneo completed, it will be a game changer for us,”
he told local media.
Earlier, Uggah and his entourage had travelled by express bus from Kuching covering a distance of 786km to the said construction site.
“Along the way of our tour, we were able to see which parts of the highway is yet to be completed … Lambir, Bukit Bangunan, Jelukong and a bit of Sarikei,” he added.
