A new 950 metres new road constructed to JKR U3 Standard, linking Matang Jaya to the roundabout at Jalan Depo.

The completion of this new link road will definitely help to reduce the acute traffic congestion during peak hours at Matang Area.

The scope of the project included:

• site clearing and excavating earth drain on both sides of the road
• earthfilling up to the required formation level
• construction of two numbers reinforced concrete box culverts
• laying of stone base
• laying of premix binder course
• road line marking and installation of road furniture
• installation of street lighting

The estimated cost for the project is RM2.50 million.  It is implemented and supervised by JKR Kuching Division through various divisional tenders.

The project is initially funded under 'Pakej Rancangan Ekonomi Kedua' in 2010. It is now approved as a continuation project under 10MP 1st Rolling Plan (2011-2012).
