KUCHING: The construction of the Sarawak State Farmers’ Organisation (PPNS) complex is now at 61.7 percent completion.

Deputy Premier Datuk Amar Douglas Uggah Embas said the RM15 million project which began construction on Sept 24, 2020, is expected to be completed by July this year.

“I can say that the progress (of the project) is on schedule but there is a slight delay due to the inclement weather.

“Therefore, we are ensuring that the project is able to complete on time and we expect it to complete in July,” he said after a working visit to the project site at Muara Tuang Land District, Kota Samarahan on yesterday (Feb 27).

Uggah, who is also Infrastructure and Port Development Minister, said the contractor appointed for the project was performing well.

“However, for the period of January and February, there are constraints due to the rainy weather but we understand that.

“As a result, the works involving the installation of the roof system cannot be carried out at this time, thus there might be a slight delay in the completion process of the building,” he said.

The PPNS building costing about RM15 million is situated on five acres of land in Kota Samarahan.
